The Beauty Through Imperfection blog is owned by Paula Rollo. She resides in Houston, Texas with her husband and two kids.
About The Blog
Parents can find encouragement on the blog as they navigate the rewards and challenges of parenthood. It might be simple to extend grace to other parents while maintaining a very high bar for oneself. The purpose of Paula’s blog is to inspire moms (and dads) to embrace their own delightfully flawed parenting styles and to click away with a smile on their face, ready to take on the next laughter, mess, or difficulty that their family may present.
You can discover real-life experiences, advice, and a lot of her being there for you even though she doesn’t have all the answers on her blog. She doesn’t think there is a parenting style that works for everyone, but she does think that love and a little less stress may accomplish a lot.
In February 2011, she launched the blog. As a stay-at-home mother with a 3-month-old boy, it was the ideal pastime for her. Over the past six years, the site has expanded significantly, becoming much more than just a “outlet” for her and genuinely developing into a community of parents who are all growing together!
So, Why The name Beauty Through Imperfection?
Paula in her words said, She battled insecurities a lot throughout her life because she felt the need to be flawless. It is perfectly acceptable to work on yourself and correct your flaws, but it is simply unhealthy to continuously feel inadequate because you aren’t perfect.
As a new mother, she would experience discouragement since she would constantly observe others who appeared ideal, read blogs, and interact with individuals who all seemed to have it all together. This made her feel inadequate. Although her husband would frequently reassure her that there was no such thing as a perfect mother and that she was doing a great job because she loved and looked after her children, she continued to feel uneasy. She simply stopped thinking about it at some point in the previous couple of years and understood that while we are all flawed, the beauty is in how we all improve and develop as a community.
